Dan Dunbar

Daniel Dunbar leads EnSys Yocum’s multiphase modeling work. A licensed P.E. in the State of New York, he has over thirty years of experience in the petroleum industry with particular expertise in oil and gas production, computer-based simulation, petroleum technology and economics. Dan has substantial expertise in the design and simulation of upstream oil facilities including oil well, surface flow lines, gas-oil separators and associated PVT modeling; this in addition to his extensive work in petroleum refining technology and on fuels properties. He received a national award from NASA for his innovations in developing refinery simulation models. Dan’s experience covers field projects in the Middle East, North Sea, Texas, Alaska, Indonesia, Venezuela, and India and ranging from wet gas / retrograde condensate to extra heavy oil.

Prior to his work with EnSys, Dan held supervisory and executive positions with Getty, Chemico Commonwealth Oil and Nuclear Power Services Co. Dan holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University and is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Dan has co-authored several publications including “Methods for Optimal Matching of Separation and Metering Facilities for Performance, Cost, and Size: Practical Examples from Duri Area 10 Expansion” and “Benefits derived from the application of Virtual Metering Production Software” presented at the North Sea Flow Workshop.
